1st Season • From Astoria • Attended U of O
- When did you start dancing?
I started dancing in a studio setting when I was 6 years old.
- What got you started dancing?
Dancing, singing, performance based talents have always been a huge part of Filipino culture. I would always follow my older sister around after her dance classes and try copying her movements. I fell in love with dance and the rest is history!
- What is your favorite memory as a dancer?
Dancing since I was 6 years old makes it really REALLY hard to pick just one, because they are constantly replaced by new favorite memories! I would say though, my favorite memory so far is a tie between Announcement Night (when I first found out I had made the BlazerDancers for the 2016-17 season) and FanFest (my first time performing as a BlazerDancer in front of RipCity). This last summer was my third year auditioning for the team. Wanting to be a BlazerDancer dates back to when I was just a little girl so having achieved my dream after pursuing it for 3 years was indescribable. I feel so honored, thankful, excited, and proud along with about a billion other things every time I get to perform for Rip City!!!
- What is your favorite song to dance to?
‘This is How We Do It’, ‘No Diggity’, & ‘Poison’! (Hip Hop BBQ on Pandora plays all the jams!)
- Who is your all-time favorite Blazer?
Rasheed Wallace because he put his heart into every game and always played his hardest. He was committed 100%. I really value that in a professional athlete.
- Other than dancing, what are your hobbies/talents?
You can find me at my CrossFit gym, running with my mini Australian Shepherd, Kayaking, Hiking, or Camping. Also, I am an expert at shopping!
- What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I had a gymnastics background. I’ve always wanted to be able to do a hand-stand walk, back or front flip!
- What is your favorite part about Portland?
Portland has a culture unlike any other city I have ever visited. I love that I can find that same friendly ambiance and sense of community here in Portland, despite it being a much larger city than my hometown, Astoria, OR.
- Where is your favorite place to eat in Portland?
Henry’s in NW Portland
- What is your favorite movie?
Everything Disney! I don’t think that will ever change no matter how old I get.
- Where is the most interesting place you’ve traveled, and why?
Europe! I studied abroad in Germany for 5 months during my college career! Many of the cities I visited were hundreds of years older than the US. The architecture, culture, history, and people were all so amazing.
- If you could time travel back to one decade, what period would you choose?
The Roaring 20s!
- What is your biggest pet peeve?
When my pup decides not to come to sleep with me.
- If you could befriend one celebrity, who would it be and why?
Will Smith – So we can recite the Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme Song together!
- If your life had a motto, what would it be?
“Practice like you’ve never won. Perform like you’ve never lost”
